Open House

The occasion was an open house party for Steve & Priscilla Forney's spectacular new home in East Valley--I mean this house is so big those two could live there together and never have to run into each other for months. And talk about NQPS style--it's everywhere in this home: beautiful tile and hardwood floors, glass tile wall in the powder room that's more an actual work of art, jewel-like vessel sink, fabulous Tuscan-style wall & ceiling treatments throughout, golds, deep reds, mustard, toasty browns, soaring ceiling and wooden beams in the Great Room. And a tile-lined dog-washing room. Also a great party with tons of people and lots of blogalicious opportunities:

Gretchen, owner of Gretchen, in an Esdio sweater from Gretchen in a bright pop-art floral print hoodie and jeans. Funkalicious! Flowerific! Fabulositility! I want to go to there.

Kay in a linen lime green print shirt jacket, also from Gretchen. (For more about Gretchen, see my archives 10/27/08 "Three New Places to Shop.")

More green, after all it's March--Delores always looks so put together--she proves that you don't have to be 5' 10" to be chic. She's short & stylish. This time she showed up in an emerald cotton sateen jacket with stand-up collar, layered over all black. I had to talk her in to posing--can you believe that? No one's ever NOT wanted to be blogged.....

I loved Laurie's necklace--lots of turquoise, amber, beautiful semi-precious stones. She told me she got it at TJ Maxx for a mere pittance compared to what Nordstrom charges for the same designer. Now I can't remember the name? Something to do with birds and/or Indians...so Laurie & Kristelle if you're reading this please leave me a comment.....

Wedges--I used to think they were clunky but they're everywhere this spring so I may as well get used to him. I thought these ecru patent ones with the peep-toe & the cork sole were really kinda cute!

This is Joanne, who did the ruffly one-shoulder thing in a chiffon art print with her jeans. Such a great top! She's from Southern California. You can do that sort of thing there.

Jan's fabulous shoes: pony hair, zebra stripes, kitten heels--so cute!

Do you mean those shoes are made out of pony hair?!

Mom, the shoes are zebra---not leopard. Get your wild animals straight!
