Last night we went to see "The Curious Savage" at the Akin Center Theater. Great show, great acting, fun theater-in-the-round setting, as I've said before. Anyone who is into vintage clothing should go just to see Mary Kloster's costumes--as always, pulled directly from her own closet--vintage '40's (or are they '50's?) dresses in black and white that make you want to return to that era.
The Warehouse did "The Curious Savage" just a few years ago with Mary once again in the lead and Sandy Jennings as Fairy. The rest of the cast was new but please, note to Tony: you're a new theater. Give us some new shows. Give us some new actors. Maybe you're trying to be ecologically correct, but quit the recycling and give us something new.
Future productions include "The Fantastiks", one of my very favorite (old) muscials, and "Romeo and Juliet." I'll keep you posted.
