Fashion Show at Lunch!

Whooo, I know! I haven't blogged in such a l0ong time! Well that's one of the pitfalls of blogging style in a place like NQPS! Sometimes it's a long, tenebrous dry spell--- and this was one. Waaah.
But just in time, the Wild Lucy's fashion show at Gasperetti's to benefit Allied Arts. Raffle tickets were sold, some beautiful art pieces were donated by Yakima's best artists, and delicious food was eaten.
Attendees dressed for the occasion, including Jheri (below) who found her shoes at Target? PayLess? Now I forget, but these black patent stilettos definitely have that heavy-into-bondage vibe . Dangerous shoes! And i'm not talkin' about twisting an ankle.
Also, loved Jheri's chocolate brown knit top with the built-in stone necklace holding it up. No jewelry required! No whips or chains either!
Speaking of jewelry, Stephanie wore a knockout necklace of a double row of ivory-looking teardrop stones suspended from pearls. Not for the shy, quiet, retiring jewelry-wearer. This necklace shouts for well-deserved attention and dominates whatever else you're wearing. I adore it! She said her sister got it for her from Anthropology.

Now to the actual models: Jessica, our amazing Executive Director at Allied Arts, was coerced (by me, of course) into modeling and had great fun wearing Wild Lucy's clothes and visiting with everyone at the tables. This outfit was so cute: flared jeans, flowered flowing top, and a great lightweight little grey swing jacket that would go over anything in any season.
Cathy, owner of C.S. Pilates and a perfect Pilates-honed body, wore this delicious satin ruffly number in a bordeaux color--looked spectacular on her.

Ok, Andrea was not modeling but she had on this amazing aqua leather jacket that I just had to show everyone. Nice earrings too. Doesn't look like your everyday CPA does she? Plus she brought a whole posse of Moss Adams co-workers with her, that was so sweet.

Every room at Gasperetti's was full of fashionista lunchers, even the patio. Here Chinique was showing off her emerald green jersey cocktail dress with some heavy-duty gold trim down the front. She left for Las Vegas the next day & I think she should have taken this with her!

Cathy again in her jeans and t-shirt number: great belt, fabulous shoes. Lucy's specializes in jeans: so many different styles & washes. These were great.

Liz got in on the cocktail dress craze too, this is a teal velvet Betsy Johnson (whoever thought we'd find Betsy Johnson in YAKIMA???) with the flattering empire waist & flowing skirt. Great for summer or winter, loved it.

Amber wore this black and gold chiffon cocktail dress with many tiers of many ruffles. Many cuteness for dancing many hours.

I wish I could've gotten pix of all the models in all their changes! I missed some of the really cute ones, sorry. Seriously folks! If you haven't been to Wild Lucy's you've gotta go! It's up in Glenwood by JackSons sports bar on 48th & Tieton. And even though a lot of the clothes are for the young and skinny, anyone can find something she likes there--cool jewelry, t-shirts, accessories, cosmetics. Or if you're my age you'll definitely find something for your daughter or daughter-in-law or whoever. Owner Dawn Gardner is fearless about buying cutting-edge, crazy, fun, wild pieces and stocks her store with a wide spectrum of interesting and different lines. (If Macy's makes your eyes glaze over, this is your place.) Yes, it's Wild! And I don't know who Lucy is.
Anyway, many thanks to Dawn and her hard-working ladies for fitting the girls and coordinating the show. And many more thanks to John Gasperetti for donating 15% of the day's take to Allied Arts, (www.alliedartsyakima.org) an organization that is dedicated to bringing the arts in all it's forms to all people, especially children, in this valley. And thank you Randy LaPierre for getting it all together for us!
